Open Arms Hospice is privileged to receive contributions from individuals and organizations throughout the Upstate. In the past few years, donated funds have allowed us to enhance the services we offer to our patients and famililes, including: 
  • Sitter services, paid in full by Hospice, that give caregivers much-deserved break from their caregiving responsibilities
  • Memorial Services, held annually, to celebrate the lives of those we have served
  • Assistance in paying utility bills for families with limited resources
  • Celebrations for patients and families on their birthdays, anniversaries, and at Thanksgiving and Christmas
  • Travel arrangements for family members who cannot afford to visit their relatives in hospice care 
  • Payment of prescription medications, medical equipment and supplies for patients without insurance
  • Sponsorship of educational programs for the medical community, church leaders and the general public

Comfort Bag Donations

Open Arms Hospice provides "comfort bags" to both our in-home and hospice house patients. We welcome donations of the following items from individuals and groups to help fill our comfort bags:
  • Body Wash
  • Toothbrushes and paste   
  • Skid-proof socks
  • Deodorant
  • Lotion
  • Mouthwash
  • Brushes/combs
  • Crossword puzzles, word search games
  • Pens
  • Small notepads for journaling
  • Hard candy
  • Bottled water
  • Crackers
  • Small handheld games
  • Disposable cameras
  • Fleece or crocheted blankets

McCall Hospice House Donations

We also welcome donations of items that help the McCall Hospice House run smoothly. Some items in particular that we appreciate include:
  • Unopened adult pull-ups, sizes medium and large
  • New and used baby monitors
  • Coffee                                                              
  • Coffee Filters                                               
  • Paper plates, paper cups and paper towels
  • Plastic forks and spoons
  • Denture cups    
  • Small jars of peanut butter
  • New and used CDs and DVDs
  • Razors and shaving cream
  • New and gently used books and magazines
  • Birdseed
  • Loose change in zip-top bags for families to use at vending machines

Holding Crosses

We invite community members to purchase "holding crosses" for our patients in honor or memory of a loved one. These small wooden crosses are shaped especially to fit inside patients' hands and are easy to hold - even for patients with arthritis. If you would like to purchase a holding cross for $15.00, please download an order form and send it to Open Arms Hospice.
